And on Day 16 there was Breath of Fire

Infusing home practice with classes is such a huge benefit for me. In class, I take on challenges that I would not do at home, push myself, be fearless, and not wimp out. And at home I get to practice whatever I feel my body wants in the moment. Tonight I took on Kapalabhati breathing, also known as Shining Skull or Breath of Fire. This breath control (pranayama) gives you energy, cleans the respiratory system, and strengthens the diaphragm. Pranayama is one of the eight limbs of yoga. And also the first thing you do when you enter this world, and the last thing you do when you leave it. Make it count.
